Secnidazole, a 5-nitroimidazole with a longer half-life, is structurally related to metronidazole
and tinidazole. For treatment of bacterial vaginosis (BV), secnidazole is a suitable single-
dose oral drug having a longer serum half-life than metronidazole. The objective of this
